Benjamin Brunn

Benjamin Brunn

B. „Let's call it a day“ mit Move D). Auf seinen Binemusic-Veröffentlichungen befinden sich 100%ige Nord-Modular-Produktionen.

Chemnitz-based Olaf Bender originally started out with experimental film manipulation during his high school days that put him in touch with the East German underground band AG-Geige, of which he became a member in 1988. After the fall of the Berlin wall, Bender continued to work in graphic design, art and the music business, eventually setting up the label Rastermusic in 1996 together with Frank Bretschneider. The label merged with Carsten Nicolai's Noton imprint in 1999 to form Raster-Noton, Germany's singular experimental music imprint, for which Bender has created a distinct appearance and product design.

Lars Leonhard

Lars Leonhard

Martin Nonstatic

Martin Nonstatic

Martin was born in the Netherlands 1976 and moved to Germany close to Cologne at the age of 12. After a couple of years just listening to electronic music and playing his first keyboard, he got really addicted to his first synthesizer at the age of 18. Changing and manipulating sounds brought him to a point of no return.

Always influenced by his environment, musicians and friends, and a great sense of curiosity his tastes naturally spiralled in on the limitless space of ambient, electronica and different styles of techno music.

He focused his work on live performances for quite a long time and used a lot of toys like hardware synths, drum computers, mixers and effect units, playing the dance and chill out floors while keeping his neighbours in mind. In 2009, he decided to dedicate himself more to studio work after years of performing and producing tracks for himself and friends.

His music has since received international support form different imprints and Labels

2014 Martin Nonstatic started a video - sound collaboration project called Duoluxe and a Creative home Website/project " Domrauschen " followed by a final stage for "Inner Landscapes" CD release on BINE.

Scanner

Scanner

British artist Robin Rimbaud traverses the experimental terrain between sound, space, image and form, creating absorbing, multi-layered sound pieces that twist technology in unconventional ways. From his early controversial work using found mobile phone conversations, through to his focus on trawling the hidden noise of the modern metropolis as the symbol of the place where hidden meanings and missed contacts emerge, his restless explorations of the experimental terrain have won him international admiration from amongst others, Bjork, Aphex Twin and Stockhausen.

Sven Schienhammer

Sven Schienhammer

Sven Schienhammer grew up in the '80s. Producing and remixing electronic music since 1995 first using hardware tools such as Rolands MC 505 and a 303 with some efx tools. Now the studio is hardware and software in symbiosis. Using some oldschool synths from the 70's & 80's for the love of the lo-fi feeling of those machines! The sounds are digitized thoughts and emotions. Personal favourite styles in music include detroit and dubby electronics, deep house, dub, roots reggae, drones, ambient and some experimental stuff. He also releases music as Quantec and Monoaxial.

Steinbrüchel

Steinbrüchel

Steinbrüchels musical work deals mainly with the texture and atmosphere of sound. In the studio he works relentlessly towards the creation of new sounds. The accumulation, collection and the arrange- ment of those sounds is revealed during his livesets. The sounds one hears in his music form both intricate patterns and spacious landscapes. In his experiments with electronically created sound, steinbrüchel portrays an acute awareness for beauty. His productions follow a distinctly sophisticated aesthetic. Flowing calmly through the listener his music invokes a glowing space which invites the listener to travel within the sound. Steinbrüchels compositions and conceptual arrangements connect him to the genre of New Music rather than club music, locating his work more in the realm of digital sound art.

Ben Swire

Ben Swire

Ben Swire is a musician and recording engineer based in San Francisco. Originally from the Boston area, he studied drums and percussion with jazz drummer Matt Gordy. As a teenager, he built his first studio in his parents' basement. It was there that he began to explore the possibilities of the studio setting, not only as a space to capture performances, but also as a collection of creative tools to layer, sculpt and manipulate sound. This approach became the impetus for making his own recordings. Swire's formal music education continued at UMass Amherst, where he studied with electroacoustic composer Charles Bestor. Upon graduating, he moved to London where he performed regularly with Naturestrip founder Joel Stern in the experimental/improvisational act Minus. Swire has appeared on recordings for labels in the USA, the UK, Germany and Australia. His debut full length, "From Here to There," was released in 2010 on Preservation. More information on his music, as well as his work in photography and sound mixing, can be found on his website: www.benswire.com.

Marconi Union

Marconi Union

Marconi Union formed in 2002 when Richard Talbot and Jamie Crossley met while working at a record shop in Manchester. Their self-produced debut album, Under Wires and Searchlights, appeared in 2003 on the small English independent label Ochre Records. The album was followed with a sustained period of silence only punctuated by a couple of remixes.

They were then picked up in 2005 by All Saints Records, one of the pioneering ambient labels, who released their second album, Distance. This featured a darker, more electronic sound. Plans to release their third album A Lost Connection were thrown into disarray by a major label takeover, to the disappointment of both MU and All Saints decided it was necessary to part ways. Consequently, in July 2008, Marconi Union launched their digital label MU Transmissions to sell their music via their own website. The first release was their long awaited third album A Lost Connection.

The following year, 2009, saw the release of Tokyo on BineMusic, a German label associated with cutting edge electronica. According to press releases and reviews, Tokyo was inspired by media images of the city. In the same year they joined forces with the UK label Just Music, with whom they have released all their subsequent albums, A Lost Connection (2010), Beautifully Falling Apart (Ambient Transmissions Vol. 1) (2011), Different Colours (2012) and Weightless (Ambient Transmissions Vol. 2)(2014). Also in 2012, they re-issued Under Wires and Searchlights and Distance.

Over a period of two years, Talbot and Crossley collaborated with Jah Wobble; together they released an album called Anomic on 30 Hertz records in June of 2013. In 2010, the band announced that Duncan Meadows had joined on a permanent basis, having previously played with them at a number of live gigs. Different Colours was the first album from this new line up.

For over a decade, Marconi Union have performed at various events in the UK and Europe, including Big Chill (UK), Palac Akropolis (Prague) and, in September 2012, they appeared at Punkt Festival in Norway, an event curated by Brian Eno.
